SPEAK TO YOUR BODY

 

Tell your body what you want from it.  I specifically speak to my body during workouts.  I instruct the cells in my body to metabolize fat in the places that I'd like to trim up.  I also ask my body to tighten my skin and form muscle.  

Instructing and making requests of your body is different from hoping for those same changes.  Its different from targeting weight loss areas through diet and action which are also necessary.  When you speak directly to your body and tell it what you want from it, you are honouring and recognizing the wisdom in every cell.  

While I'm running on the treadmill, I may say; " Fat cells in my thighs; I instruct you to release and metabolize the fat.  Thank you for storing that fat in case I needed it, but I no longer need it. Metabolize it now please and release it from my body."  I may repeat similar instructions while standing in front of the mirror and touching the various areas that I'd like to sculpt.

This is no more of an obsession than eating in a healthy way, or running on the treadmill for the purpose of weight-loss.  Its is simply another tool in the box.  And its not just a tool.  Its a mindful and meditative way of recognizing the tremendous power we have to heal ourselves.

I recognize that my body is wise.  Intelligence resides in every cell.  When I gain weight, my body is obediently storing the nutrience I put into it, in case I need it later.  So now, I'm simply telling it to release that fat.

I also speak to my metabolism in a similar way.  I ask it to work at an efficient and healthy level, and thank it for protecting me and doing its job.

When I take the time to recognize my body as intelligent, and speak to it so, I see the results that I am looking for. Often it will even speak back to me, and tell me what it needs, if I remember to ask. But that is for next time.......
