I am a feisty mother of 6 children . I love my family and I feel things strongly.
I’m a dreamer, an achiever and a believer.
I am profoundly inspired by the wilderness and raw beauty of the rain-forests of Central America. I am also deeply affected by the unhappiness of our western society, and the bleak environmental forecast of our Mother Earth.
During the warm months my children attend our local Waldorf School in Canada where they are steeped in nature and things holistic. When winter rolls around my partner Tim and I head south to the beaches of Central America, home-school in the sunshine and eat copious amounts of pineapple, rice & beans.
The combination of motherhood and career continually calls me to find balance. I find peace through writing, meditation and an active holistic lifestyle. And also by getting the heck out of Canada during the winter months!
I have lived with anxiety and depression throughout my adult life. As I learn more about myself, SADS and depression, its been eye opening to realize that there are many of us feeling the grief caused by our modern way of life.
I am learning to live differently. I am learning to make choices that come from a different place. I am learning to eat different foods and to create different experiences for my family and myself. I have embraced a philosophy that is different from what our popular culture calls truth.
Along my different path I am finding joy. And with joy there is a desire to give back.
My hope is to make a difference where its possible, to help soothe both the pains of sore skin and the pains of life by sharing a little of what I’ve learned along the way. Happiness matters!
